Double Bonus Poker at Springbok: rich quads, thin two pair

Double Bonus Poker at Springbok pays three sizes of four of a kind: four Aces at 160 coins on a 1-coin bet, four 2s, 3s or 4s at 80, and any other quad at 45. To fund that, two pair returns only even money, while the full house, flush and straight pay more than on Jacks or Better.

Double Bonus Poker rules at Springbok

The machine plays with natural cards only. Five are dealt, you choose which to keep, one draw fills the gaps, and whatever stands after that draw is checked against the rows on screen. Jacks or better, as a pair, is the smallest hand that wins anything. Lobby reading · 9 Oct 2026 (opens the source)

Four of a kind is graded by rank and only by rank. Unlike its cousin Double Double Bonus Poker, this machine ignores the fifth card: four Aces with a 3 pay exactly what four Aces with a King pay. When a quad is dealt, the only decision is whether to collect it or gamble it.

Bets run from 1 to 5 coins at a coin value between R0.05 and R5.00. A gamble round called Double or Nothing follows a win: you choose a card against the dealer's, a higher card doubles the prize and a lower one forfeits it. Turning the round down leaves the win as the table paid it.

Double Bonus Poker pay table compared

This table moves value in two directions at once. The quad rows, the full house, the flush and the straight all rise compared with Springbok's Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker machines, while two pair falls to 1, the same as a single pair of Jacks.

Read down the columns and the family pattern is plain. Double Double Bonus Poker keeps these quad awards, adds two kicker rows on top, and pays for them with a smaller full house, flush and straight. Of the Jacks-based machines read on 9 October 2026, Double Bonus Poker shows the highest full-house award, 10 coins at 1 coin.

The royal flush pays 250 coins at 1 coin and 4,000 at 5. Every other row on this machine pays in straight proportion to the coins bet, so the royal is the only reason the fifth coin earns more than the first four.

How it lines up with published tables: Wizard of Odds lists several Double Bonus versions. One, which it says turns up at some Real Time Gaming casinos, matches Springbok's screen row for row. It differs from the version most strategy charts are built for in a single line, four 5s through Kings, which pays less. Springbok's lobby runs games from Realtime Gaming (RTG) Verified · 9 Oct 2026 (opens the source). For what the columns and rows mean in general, see video poker pay tables explained.

Double Bonus Poker strategy: holds that cut the house edge

Holding choices change how much of each bet the house keeps over many hands; they do not tip the game your way. The chart quoted below is Wizard of Odds' simple Double Bonus strategy, worked out for the common table that differs from Springbok's in that one quad row. Its top lines carry over cleanly; its lower, finer lines are approximations here.

  • Three Aces outrank a made full house. The chart's notes on difficult hands say to keep three Aces and throw the pair when you are dealt Aces full. Neither choice can end as four 5s through Kings, so the one row where Springbok's table differs plays no part in this decision.
  • Two pair is still held. It sits above a single high pair on the chart even though it pays only 1, because the one-card draw can turn it into a full house worth 10.
  • An open-ended four-card straight outranks a low pair. With straights paying 5, the chart keeps 9-8-7-6 ahead of a pair of 6s. Jacks or Better charts usually keep the low pair; this one does not.
  • A high pair outranks a four-card flush, and that flush draw in turn outranks three cards to a royal flush.

Further down, the chart gets long: unsuited Ace-King-Queen-Jack, suited picture-card pairs and single high cards all have their places, and the full list is linked below. If you want holds fitted to Springbok's exact rows, the Wizard of Odds strategy maker accepts an edited pay table. Our strategy basics guide explains how to work through any ranked hold list.

Stakes and swings on a quad-heavy table

With two pair cut to even money, more of this table's payout sits in quads, and quads are rare. That makes Double Bonus Poker a bumpier ride than Jacks or Better at the same stake: long runs of small or no wins are normal, and no hand is ever due. Choose a coin value your session budget can carry through those runs, not one that needs a quad to last the evening.

Because the machine pays in coins, switching the viewer's units from coins to rand is the quickest way to see what four Aces or a full house is worth at your coin value. Try It! mode on the lobby tile, where the table on this page was read, deals with practice money: a sensible place to rehearse the Aces-full and straight-draw holds before a real stake.

Deal it from a phone. On 9 October 2026 the desktop lobby put up a Flash-retirement notice for video poker and pointed players to the mobile version, the same client this table was read from. How Double Bonus Poker compares

Questions players ask

How much do four Aces pay in Double Bonus Poker at Springbok?

160 coins on a 1-coin bet and 800 on a 5-coin bet. Multiply by your coin value for the rand amount, or set the viewer to rand and read it off.

Does the kicker count in Springbok's Double Bonus Poker?

No. This machine has no kicker rows: four of a kind pays by rank alone. Among the Jacks-based machines, kicker rows appear on Double Double Bonus Poker and the two Jackpot games.

Should I break up Aces full in Double Bonus Poker?

The Wizard of Odds strategy for the common Double Bonus table says to keep the three Aces and discard the pair. Springbok's table differs only in the four 5s through Kings row, which neither hold can reach, so the same reasoning applies. It trims the house edge over many hands; it does not make that hand a winner.

Can I play Double Bonus Poker with a Springbok bonus?

Not usefully. Hands here add nothing to wagering because video poker is missing from the T&Cs list, and an excluded-game bet made before the rollover is done can cost you the bonus along with its winnings. Wait until no bonus is running.
