Sevens Wild at Springbok: four wild 7s and how the pay table differs

Sevens Wild at Springbok is a wild-card game in which all four 7s stand in for any card, so Three of a kind is the lowest paying hand and five of a kind can be made. Four 7s pay 200 coins for each coin staked, and a natural royal pays 300 with one coin in or 4,000 with all five. Stakes run from R0.05 to R25.00 per deal.

How Sevens Wild plays at Springbok

The round is the same five-card draw as everywhere else in the room: pick a coin value and up to 5 coins, keep what you like from the deal, and draw once. One hand is dealt per round. The twist is that any 7 counts as whatever card makes your hand best. Lobby reading · 9 Oct 2026 (opens the source)

Moving the wild rank from the 2s to the 7s changes less than you might expect. The 2s go back to being ordinary low cards, so a deal of two 2s, two 9s and a King is simply two pair, which pays nothing on this table. Five of a kind always needs at least one 7. It is the pay table, not the rank of the wild card, that makes Sevens Wild play differently from the deuces games.

Double or Nothing follows any win: a card higher than the dealer's doubles it, a lower one loses it. The gamble is not part of the pay table, and a rule set before the session holds up better than one made after a run of three of a kinds.

The Sevens Wild pay table beside Deuces Wild

Put Sevens Wild next to Springbok's Deuces Wild and the outline is close: the same lowest paying hand, a bonus row for all four wild cards, a wild royal and five of a kind. The figures part ways in the middle of the table:

Coins paid at 1 coin, as shown in Springbok's lobby (– = no such row)
MachineRoyal FlushFive of a kindStraight FlushFour of a kindFull HouseFlushStraight
Deuces Wild2501594432
Sevens Wild3001595322

Sevens Wild returns more for four of a kind and less for a full house and a flush. Its wild royal returns 20 at 1 coin against 25 on Deuces Wild, while four 7s return the same 200 that four deuces do there. At 1 coin its natural royal is a little higher, 300 against 250; with five coins in, both machines show 4,000.

The four of a kind versus full house trade shows up at the machine. With four of a kind paying 5 per coin and a full house only 3, it is tempting to break a dealt full house and draw two cards to the three of a kind. Counting every possible draw against these rows says no: the full house comes out ahead.

Outside Springbok, the Wizard of Odds prints four Sevens Wild pay tables, and Springbok's rows match one of them exactly per coin once the natural royal is counted at its five-coin rate: a wild royal at 20, five of a kind at 15 and a straight flush at 9. The first table on that page pays 25 for the wild royal and 10 for the straight flush, a step above Springbok's version on both rows. The other two pay 12 for five of a kind, below Springbok's figure, but each gives something back elsewhere: one on the wild royal, the other on the full house and the flush.

No source states what Springbok's machine returns overall, so this page makes no full-pay or short-pay claim for it. For how the coin columns work, see video poker pay tables explained.

Holding notes for Sevens Wild

No free strategy chart for Sevens Wild turned up in the sources we checked; the Wizard of Odds page that prints its pay tables stops short of holding advice. The one habit worth borrowing comes from the Wizard of Odds chart for full-pay Deuces Wild: sort each deal by how many wild cards it holds. Everything else here was settled by scoring every possible draw for each competing hold against Springbok's Sevens Wild rows, once at 1 coin and once at 5, with no disagreement between the two. Each hold narrows the house edge on that deal and goes no further.

  • Three 7s in a made five of a kind: keep the five of a kind. It comes out narrowly ahead of three 7s alone, the opposite of the matching deal on Loose Deuces.
  • Three 7s in a made wild royal: keep the wild royal.
  • Two 7s that already complete a straight flush or four of a kind: stand on the straight flush; with four of a kind, keep the four matching cards and redraw the odd one.
  • A dealt full house, no 7s: keep it rather than drawing to the three of a kind.
  • Two pair, no 7s: keep one pair and draw three, since two pair pays nothing here.
  • No 7s, a low pair beside four to a flush: the pair.
  • Four to an inside straight flush against three to a royal: with the Queen, Jack, 10 and 8 of hearts, the four-card straight flush draw comes out ahead of the three royal cards at either coin count.

Wild cards make three of a kind common, and it only returns your stake. A screen full of small wins can hide a falling balance, so keep an eye on the balance rather than the win counter.

The strategy basics guide sets these notes against the other families in the room.

Stakes, practice and phones

On Sevens Wild the fifth coin earns a premium on one hand only, the natural royal, which climbs from 300 to 4,000; four 7s and every row below them pay the same per coin at any coin count. If that royal premium matters to you, set the coin value low enough that five coins sit within the budget. The betting grid matches every machine in the room:

A phone is where Sevens Wild was read. The Flash-retirement notice seen in a desktop browser on 9 October 2026 is recorded for two machines, Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild. A practice round through Try It! costs nothing: the fun balance was R1,000.00 at the reading, and Springbok's own article calls it a single allowance. How Sevens Wild compares

Questions players ask

Are 7s wild in Sevens Wild at Springbok?

Yes. All four 7s stand in for any card, so the lowest paying hand is three of a kind and five of a kind is possible. The 2s are ordinary cards on this machine.

What does four sevens pay at Springbok?

200 coins at 1 coin and 1,000 at 5 coins, the same as four deuces on Springbok's Deuces Wild. Only the natural royal pays more.

How is Sevens Wild different from Deuces Wild?

The wild rank moves from the 2s to the 7s, and the table changes: at Springbok, Sevens Wild returns 5 for four of a kind against 4, but less for a full house, a flush and a wild royal.

Is there a strategy chart for Sevens Wild?

We found no free published chart; the Wizard of Odds prints Sevens Wild pay tables but no holding advice. This page lists holds worked out by counting every possible draw against Springbok's own table, and the deuce-counting habit from Deuces Wild charts carries over.

Does Sevens Wild count toward Springbok bonus wagering?

No, it does not. Video poker does not appear on the T&Cs list of games that clear a bonus, and betting on an excluded game while wagering is unfinished can void the bonus and its winnings. Deal it from a balance with no active bonus.
